So I have had my Excursion a little over a year and in the past 2 months the range of the key fob isn't that good. 15-20 feet at best it use to be alot better. I have replaced the batterys and tried a new key fob and it did not help. Any ideas?
I hate factory systems for that very reason, lack of range. I always install a 2-way aftermarket keyless entry, remote start, alarm system in my vehicles. I can be in the checkout line in Walmart and start my truck that's out in the parking lot. The 2-way is also nice because I get notified that it did indeed start or if someone breaks into it.

What system did you use? And was it on a Excursion?
This will sound stupid but I have tested it and it really works. Your head acts as an antenna to extend the range of the key fob. Place the fob under your chin and push the lock or unlock button. I've noticed it nearly triples the range. I actually use the trick frequently.
If you don't believe me, test it yourself when no one is looking
I fixed mine by installing a remote start.
I can start mine from anywhere with my phone. And I agree with the two way communication. It’s nice knowing that mine started.
I have one 1 mile range key fob and then my phone.
