I called Airtex Tech support today and asked about a 255LPH pump they told me the only Hi volume pump that would work in the F series is a Carter P74151HP that is made for the Mustang and he said he had no clue if it would fit into the stock plastic housing so at this point this is a dead end. Summit racing also offer a Walbro pump as well for the mustang but here is a link to that carter pump....

I've yet to have a stock late F series module to dissect at leisure. I did hack up an aftermarket in a yard quickly & I swear I saw no difference in the internal pump & the stock pump out of my 92 5.0 GT

Seems any flavor BBK/Walbro/etc for late Fox would fit like stock.

I was wondering about that. Thanks for the info. Not that this matters to this discussion but I had to replace the fuel pump on my quad last year and all the guts came right out of the plastic housing. I swapped in the new pump into the old plastic housing and it's been good every sense.

The pump inside of the plastic housing is exactly the same configuration as the free standing pumps used in the mustangs and early style truck sending units.

I read every line on this thread and thought I needed to up the wire size. I did some more digging and here's what I got; These pumps only pull 12.5 amps. The relay is 20. I bailed on the wire size increase. I wired in a 15 amp fuse at each tank. So far so good. They are MUCH quieter than I was expecting. I would put them right at stock (quieter if yours are dying). Check it out.

Neighbors starting to think I'm crazy

Cleaned up pretty good

Dogs aren't sure how they are supposed to ride on that.

Carb spray, compressed air, and a vacuum BEFORE you pull that pump!

Pic out of order, but you get the idea.

I torch soldered and heat shrunk both lines. Factory was only the hot.

New unit was a great fit.

I figured these couldn't possibly hurt.

This will be my test piece. It's soaking in gasoline as you read this. The second I don't like how it looks in the jar, I will reassess.

I intended on a new seal but the parts store only had one and wouldn't sell separate from the metal lock ring. Old seal was soft as could be so I saved $25 and cleaned up the old one. Use a little oil to promote seal and maybe swell a little.

The paint. always have to paint. Never on wires or liquid lines, that's just not tasteful.

Two layers of 20 mil tape under each bed mount hole. I can't stand the the constant erosion of my precious bed supports and being constantly reminded by the friction noise.

I will update you guys if anything dies an early death or they don't pump as advertised. These were laying the foundation for this

Don't forget to test it all before the bed goes back on.
Did you end up using the quantum pumps then?
