Good to know Raven. Really hoping you can find the fix.
My update is 5 star didn't fix it. I recently read a thread about a hidden "sport mode" and I have been running it for the last 2 weeks. My truck is definitely more responsive in that mode, and I thought the "stall" or "dead pedal" was almost gone, but the other day getting onto the freeway, it didn't accelerate again for about a 2 second hesitation. I'm starting the think the only fix is something more major and something I don't have much more time and patience to get fixed. What I have tried:
TC off
Advance track off
Both off
Sport mode
5 star
Last night downshift to 3rd under WOT, the transmission held 3rd gear for almost 10 secs *after* throttle was released. 3rd gear/4800 rpm for 10 secs until I feathered the throttle to get an upshift. This transmission (10R140) is a mess for me.
That is somewhat normal. Maybe not a full 10 seconds, but my 2018 does the same.
Interesting. I have a '19 F250 with the 6.7 Power Stroke about 10k miles and can't recall seeing this. I have 3:31 gears 4x4 6R140 trans. Built June '19.
Knowing this I'll try to replicate it in a safe situation so that at least I can be aware of it and add it to the info here.
Is this mainly an issue with trucks that have the 10R140 and 3:55 (or numerically higher) gears? Or is that one of the things that still needs to be determined?
Definitely taking it in to the dealer. I can replicate the stall/hesitation under slow roll most of the time. I have never experienced hesitation or dead pedal but I occasionally do get the prolonged downshift. In my case, it always occurs while I am in Tow/Haul mode and when I step into the pedal and then let off. I just assumed it was a glitch in the programming thinking it was needing to provide engine braking upon letting up on the pedal. If I quickly switch the mode to eco or normal it immediately upshifts as it should. I agree it is annoying and does not feel right, hopefully it is a matter of better programming but it has been a year and we have not seen a resolution.
Has anyone taken it in and they actually fixed something, beyond just redoing the Learning Program ?
They did that for me as well as tweek the torque bolts hitting the bell housing but I still have the issue
took mine in a couple of weeks ago and the service advisor said that they could not recreate but they did put 25 miles on the truck trying to replicate the problem. 🙄 The truck has grown on me, esp. the 7.3, but the dead pedal issue is dangerous. I have a Ram 2500 on order.
After 2 months and 8,900 miles driving in different conditions and pulling the toy I haven't experienced the dead pedal. Hope you guys get it figured out.
Please don't get me wrong I love my Loch Ness. But she's got some issues that need to be fixed before I start to haul Cattle. Horses wouldn't be an issue, you can take them out if you break down... not cattle
I've had the loss of power a couple times now. 21 F250 Lariat Tremor 7.3 with 4.30's. Usually occurs when I slow down for a speed bump leaving my development and after going over the bump I try to accelerate and it falls on it's face. Just hit 4K miles and not liking this one bit. And then add that to the high idle issue and the truck lunging makes me want to go back to my 17 F250 Platinum 6.2 which drove beautifully. I did notice that driving in ECO mode seemed to help a bunch with the lunging, but don't recall is if did anything for the loss of power. I'll have to try and see if it makes a difference.
