So while attempting to make a left hand turn (in front of oncoming traffic) tonight my truck essentially stalled. I was rolling in the intersection and rolled out into the oncoming lanes with no power. After the 3rd jab at the accelerator the truck accelerated with about 20 yards between me and the on coming car. This is my second incident with a non-responsive throttle. Anyone else dealing with this? I thought that if I ever got death wobble it would be the end of my Ford ownership but one more dead acceleration pedal and it will be sold (if I'm not dead).
Yes sir. I have had 2 separate instances that I would rate at a pucker factor of 10. Pulling out of shopping center onto freeway access road. Roll to an almost complete stop - and then hit the gas to go when a space comes up. Nothing. Nada. Damn near got slammed broadside by oncoming traffice when a 445 cubic inch motor should have gotten me where i wanted to be without breaking a sweat. This has happened twice. I've learned that I can't hit the gas hard... because it just sits there and goes nowhere. Scary as hell when it happens.
1st time was passing on a 2 lane highway. The truck hesitated before downshifting. There was enough of a hesitation to abort the pass. I attributed that to the transmission logic not being able to quickly and correctly determine the appropriate downshift. I've had that happen several times especially if the truck is in 10th gear.
Last night was more of a no power situation. The more I think of it, I'm not so sure that it was the TC kicking in. I've had TC kick in during rain while turning/merging into traffic. This wasn't a power/reduced power/power situation. This was more like no power/ no power/power.
I'll probably file a NTSB/DOT compliant later today after I contact the dealer.
Our trucks seem to have identical symptoms. My build date was June 20. What is your build date?
Hey Raven, try tow haul mode for a few days, it seems to help out the most. I'm going to remember to put mine in that mode every day for awhile.
As RainDesert suggests, when I am in start/stop conditions I choose the Tow mode and it becomes much more responsive. In Normal mode it always jumps directly from 1st to 3rd and does so too quickly leaving me over-geared for any quick response. My driveway is pretty steep so when it jumps to 3rd gear after only about 5ft of travel I have to give it enough pedal to get it to jump back down into 2nd, causing a hesitation. Tow mode always goes from 1st to 2nd and then to 3rd and has a little more time between gears. The 5 Star tune apparently eliminates the skip over 2nd gear, but I am not going the tune route. Unfortunately, Tow mode has some unintended consequences that are opposite of the hesitation issue, upon a hard pedal it often remains in too low of a gear for a period of time. I hope Ford updates their programming for a better experience.
My truck was built in Jan 2020 and had the issue day one. I took it back to the dealer with 120 miles on it and got the no problem found. The truck has 2200 miles and it has gotten no better. I tried the 5 start tunes and it made no change to the problems even after they made
revisions more than once. I need to figure out if I can get enough data points via HP tuners to log while driving and trying to reproduce it. Then it would give 5 star data to look at and see what is going on. That is my best idea to try and resolve the issue. I sold an 04 Silverado
to buy this truck and I do regret it but it has to be software issues and Ford can fix it, I just wish they would.

My 250/7.3/3.55 has a May '20 build date and I haven't experienced the problem yet. I normally drive pretty easy on the gas, but have given it a bit extra at times. I'm going too try to emulate the accelerated turn you guys are doing when this occurs and we what happens. Do you have to floor it, or just give it extra gas?
I can't say that I've experienced such an extreme "stall" in my 2017. Check your tires. Are they inflated to the full 80 PSI? Try lowering that down. That may give your tires more contact with the road.
Most of the complaints in this thread are coming from 2020+ drivers, with a couple of outliers prior to that model year.
I am 3.55 gear. I find it the most easy to produce in normal traffic,
Car in front of you turns right so you slow to 5 to 10 mph, once that car clears and you go back into the gas it is like the gas pedal is not connected. Then all of the sudden it remembers what pressing that pedal means and off it goes. It drops too low gear wise and holds it too
long. This is with the stock tune, normal drive mode and nothing turned off. This is the situation I know I can produce on demand but pulling into traffic tends to make me worry as it will do much the same with higher risks involved.
I have visited 2 different dealers more or less begging the second for some kind of software update and got no problem found both times. I can only speak for the dealers around me but they are complete shat. If I had known how bad the dealers were I would have not bought my
first Ford but stayed with GM as local GM dealer is as cool as the other side of the pillow.
I did the 5 star tunes and for me it was a complete waste of cash. Others may have a better result but for my truck it made the entire situation much worse. My hope was if the dealer and Ford were not willing to help a tune might improve or if super lucky solve the
issue. In the end I am on the stock file as it works the best of my options.
I have not had this issue on my 19/6.2. but, the drive by wire is a joke at best! So, enter the pedal commander. They have a 50 bucks off for Xmas and I got one. HELLO!! This thing is amazing, period. Once upon a time, I purchased a 94 lightning off the showroom floor. And that truck had throttle response like no other, well, by the #'s this 6.2 has 135 more horsepower than the lightning did but with drive by wire, you sure as hell wouldn't know it!! The pedal commander has given me that and much more! Instantaneous launch now which makes this truck soooooooo much fun to drive! But the other benefit is now I'm in control of the tranny while in drive. I hated it before, it wouldn't shift, then when you have to make it shift by jambing down on the throttle, it would shift down 2 gears! Hated it, now I just blip the throttle and it quickly drops 1 gear and you are in the perfect gear. Btw, pedal commander+ tow/haul = the biggest **** eating grin eva!!!!✌️
Just a long shot but there was a thread about throttle lag if you ride the brake pedal. I tried it. For me, going
in a straight line and riding the brake pedal I got up to 12 mph before the throttle cut out.
I've also had a couple of instances of dead throttle when turning. Both right or left turns.

MAF, everyone I have had does it in different ways. I think what's happening is you have to wait for 90K computations and check backs to happen before the injectors can spit into the belly of the beast. I think it's worse @ a roll or standing. Some one said lay into it gradually, that works for me. I'm pretty tame anyhow. That's why the pedal goes to the floor thou, isn't it ?? Not so much to do top speed (98) but to get up and go when you have to.

I couldn't get my truck to do it today, whether turning or straight line.
