I’m kinda wondering if some of this isn’t the traction control. I was playing with the different drive mods on my tremor this weekend on snowy forest roads as I’m still not sure which mode it’s best to be in. I found when the truck ist in slippery mode I can’t hardly accelerate. The computer isn’t going to let the truck slip the tires at all. This can be a good thing at times on ice, not so good when you want the tires to spin.
I never tried it. But I think with the traction control totally off .The 7.3 would easily spin the tires from a standing stop if I floored it.
I have noticed when in normal mode my truck won’t let me spin the tires on sand or gavel roads. Doesn’t matter how far down I push the gas pedal. Sometimes I see a yellow flashing light on the dash but not always . Some trucks might be doing this on pavement.

I don't think this is traction control. I've had many vehicles that could easily break traction and none of them acted like this: dead acceleration pedal. Its apparently an issue, with so many having the same experience and potentially a dangerous issue.

Report to NTSB. Unless they know, there likely won’t be a recall.
Yes sir. I have had 2 separate instances that I would rate at a pucker factor of 10. Pulling out of shopping center onto freeway access road. Roll to an almost complete stop - and then hit the gas to go when a space comes up. Nothing. Nada. Damn near got slammed broadside by oncoming traffice when a 445 cubic inch motor should have gotten me where i wanted to be without breaking a sweat. This has happened twice. I've learned that I can't hit the gas hard... because it just sits there and goes nowhere. Scary as hell when it happens.
It is too short to be in such a hurry.
And a lot less stressful.
You can't be serious. I average 15 mpg so I would say that I'm not in the throttle much if at all. If you can't depend on your vehicle to accelerate when needed, what good is it? Asinine statement.
Well, today I almost got rear ended. At a stop light, 2nd one in line, light turns green, guy in front starts to go through the intersection, I follow, about half way through I just let off the gas ever so slightly to not gain ground on guy in front, I then ease on the pedal to continue through intersection and truck does nothing, just keeps losing momentum and the guy behind me got really close, as I should have been moving forward in a steady manor. I once again had about 2 seconds of dead pedal. So the 5star has improved my shifting and throttle response, but the dead pedal is still there.
I'm glad someone posted a new TSB yesterday in this section about the hard shifting problem as my truck has that too. I guess when I trade this thing in one day, a dealer can fix the tranny with the TSB and maybe that will correct the random dead pedal and hesitation my truck suffers from.
Did a quick survey of signatures in the above posts and came up with a question: Is dead pedal issues limited to 4WD trucks? My informal, non-scientific survey could lead to wrong assumptions because 4WD trucks are the vast majority. But I have to ask...
Are there ANY 2WD owners out there having this issue?
I also tried to find this out. Mine will do it when the trans is cold. When everything is warmed up, rock n roll. The lag is about 1 second.
So as a side joke.... Please folks take it as such, you old guys need a better reaction time when driving. If you are younger, please put down your phones!!!

Is your truck 4x2 or 4x4? Is the 1 second lag consistent?
I've had this happen a couple times as well even with my 5 Star tune. Coming out a of left and right turn and trying to punch it. Truck just stops...pretty frustrating. going to try and test if turning off traction control completely through my 5star tune removes the problem, tho it is hard to replicate as it doesn't happen all the time....2020 F250 7.3 with 4.30 and 4x4.
Definitely taking it in to the dealer. I can replicate the stall/hesitation under slow roll most of the time. Last night downshift to 3rd under WOT, the transmission held 3rd gear for almost 10 secs *after* throttle was released. 3rd gear/4800 rpm for 10 secs until I feathered the throttle to get an upshift. This transmission (10R140) is a mess for me.
