Currently have 2 layers of 5% all around truck and a 20% fully tinted windshield. Took a doctors note to stop getting tickets. Anyone else in same boat? Besides looking cool it really helps out with the heat and don’t wear sun glasses anymore. What are the laws in your state? And are they very strict with this ?
In NY, window tint is part of the annual vehicle inspection. If tint does not meet NYS requirements, vehicle fails inspection. Not sure how aggressively this is enforced during inspection. No way for state to know if this step is skipped except if vehicle happens to get pulled over for excessive window tint shortly after inspection.
Window tint restrictions are in place for safety reasons. If you have a medical condition that is helped by window tinting, hooray for an exemption. Although I like the look of full tint, the cool factor is not a good reason for excessive tint. As a driver, I want to be able to see the driver in another vehicle so I know where they are looking as I approach intersections.

well I originally got it to help with a medical condition I have. I wasn’t aware that I was going to be getting stopped a lot. After my exemption if I get stopped they let me go. The no sun glasses and less heat are just added benefits
I don’t like getting stopped.............for ANY reason. Hence, no speeding, all lights work, etc.
I also like to be able to see at night if I have to drive after dark.

you can still see at night. If something is questionable roll the window down. But it’s not that hard to see at night
My F-250 is the first vehicle that I didn’t get 20% or limo all around. I bought it used and it has legal on front. I had a buddy that ran limo on the windshield and I agree that you can see even at night but I never considered doing it myself since I already hated having to roll down windows every time I backed up. The darker interior only made the brightness of the camera picture even worse.

And I am sure the 20% on the W/S helps those black bulls really stand out at night also! LOL
Enough of my sarcasm! Where I live out in the boonies here in sunny AZ, it is all open range; and my eyes are old, and it not real easy to roll the windshield down! .....but to each their own. It does LOOK cool though.

My luck it would be pouring down rain! LOL I had 15% on a truck a few years ago, got tired of rolling down the windows at a really dark intersection. Looks great on your truck, though!
I wanted to window tint since we often visit my son near Mojave California. I can add some to the rear windows per WA state law, BUT I also visit my Mom in BC Canada. My local shop here in Seattle explained to me that I could get stopped in BC, and have to peel out the tint on the side of the road, since they don't allow much aftermarket tint up there, even for non-residents. Of course, at the moment with the SARS-CoV2 virus spreading around, they won't even let me into Canada right now....
In Canada it is technically illegal to have any tint forward of the B pillars.
However I live in Alberta and travel to BC lots. It’s been over 10 years since I’ve been pulled over for it and over 15 years since I’ve gotten a ticket for it.
