I know a couple people who claim the med exemption and it’s BS. I can’t understand why they don’t just tell these people trying to get such an exemption to wear some proper sunglasses lol. that’s what they do to people with bad eyesight right?…they tell them they have to wear their glasses..
For many it's skin exposure not eyesight. I don't have an exemption and I am not old(Irish and English though), but I can tell you when my dermatologist did a chemo treatment on my face for sun damage and the left side of my face scabbed up with dead abnormal cells, she said it was from driving exposure. BUT... If you met her you would believe anything she told you....

so you are right there are legitimate cases and then a lot of abusers on the system as usual
wouldn’t clear tint with the high UV filtering in the film work just the same and wear sunglasses during the day?
what I’m saying is I’m still not understanding how the only solution is 5% tint because I don’t think it is.
Again I tint my vehicles so I like it. But I’m not going to pretend undid it because I get headaches or something. I don it because it looks nice and because I travel to some shady areas for work and it makes a difference in how many people look inside the truck and try to interact with me.
Car windows block most of UVB rays, but only the windshields have been found to block most of UVB and UVA rays. The side glass has been found not to block as much of the UVA rays though, allowing enough through in some cases to potentially cause skin cancer. I'm not sure how much UVA blockage the side and rear glass used on the Super Duty provides. Some studies have found the side glass on some vehicles to only block 50% of UVA rays. I believe window film, even the lighter stuff, blocks 99% of all UV rays. Not sure, but greater heat rejection might require darker tints.
