I always thought factory had something on it because transition glasses do not tint while in the car. I have to wear sunglasses instead of regular if it is too bad out
I don't know how transition lenses function and what triggers them but factory glass, clear and privacy, do limit visible light transmission. The big difference, according to that Wikipedia link I posted previously is that factory glass (all glass) blocks UVB, whereas window film blocks both UVB and UVA.
I don't doubt that some manufacturers might use glass that provides more or less UV blockage.

So the UV "activate" glasses turning darker and theory is truck is blocking so they can't ?? maybe the ray going through 2 pieces of glass at different angles makes it not work also
Low E coating on house windows in the summer block rays from heating up the house (considerably) and let heat in in the winter. Sun is lower in the winter higher in the summer..the angle is everything. Pretty cool technology.
I just bought a new Nissan Leaf. After negotiating the out the door price on the phone without seeing the car, when I went to close the deal i saw it had tinting. I had them remove the tinting which was time consuming.
I’m in my mid 70’s and while my night vision is still good but with tinted windows it makes driving at night on unlit country roads difficult. My wife’s night vision is not so good. In fact without glasses her vision is 20/400, with glasses it’s corrected to 20/30. She hates dark tinted windows.
Yeah I just don’t want to get stopped a lot. I will consider it. Man this guy is getting dragged through the mud for this post! If it helps you I’m all for it. Just be careful.

So they replaced all the tinted window glass ????????????????
Heh "Plati" I have the same aluminum adjustable bench you show in your picture, that thing has made washing and waxing the truck so much better and safer, for the truck and me.
I went with legal 35% XPEL ceramic tint. Here in North Carolina the Popo can ticket a NC registered vehicle for illegal tint. First offense you may get a warning to remove the tint within a specified time period. The NC Highway Patrol carry tint measurement devices which the gives a legit or lawful reason to stop you.
The other consideration for me is seeing at night especially pulling our Travel Trailer. Could illegal tint be attributed to an accident? I would not want to have to answer that question from the Popo or worse an insurance investigator. Or worse yet having my carrier drop my coverage in a claim due to illegal tint as a contributing factor. Over thinking this? Maybe?...but just risk adverse here.
My final thought, my tint guy who installs any percentage tint anyone wants tells me he does a lot of off of removals of illegal tint and reinstalling the legal 35%. It’s a money maker for him.
So I will just roll with the legal tint, it works fine and I can see at night with no issues.
