Gas Tank Leak

I have a 2003 F150 supercab, 220,000 miles, looks good, but rust is creeping in. (underneath looks pretty crappy) I have been smelling gas, checked the fuel filter I had to replace last year, along with the gas lines leading to it, Now i see the gas tank is Moist (My daughter hates that word) around the straps, There is also an anti-skid plate on the bottom. How tough is it to replace the tank? Should I replace the Fuel pump too? Is it something I can do alone in the driveway? I just noticed it, but I want to get it done before winter hits.Thanks.

Find the correct tank first, new straps, run the gas down to a small amount.
Get / borrow a hydraulic floor jack, a plank to go under the old tank.
Disconnect the fill pipe.
Disconnect the straps, lower the tank far enough to disconnect the lines and harness.
Finish the removal.
Then decide if you want to put in a new fuel pump.
Reverse the procedure.
Consider the expenditures vs the rust.
The frame may not last much longer for inspection purposes.
I had to give up at 321,000 miles and the truck still has a good motor, trans, new tires, front end parts, nice interior etc.
Now have a 2018 with 30,000 on the clock.
It's a factory hot rod at 395 HP and 10 speeds, 5L Love it and sorry to see the old gal set.
Far far cry from the 02 it replaced.
Good luck.
