I need to have a receiver hitch on my truck for my dirt bike. I ordered up a frame-mount, drop-style receiver hitch, but I hope to retain my big bumper. Is this possible???
Super cool idea, but I am using one of those carriers for the dirt bike. The XR500R weighs close to 300lbs with fuel, map cylinder and tool bag, so I bought a Class V receiver hitch...
Just remove the current hitch completely. If you need the pintle hitch, get a pintle hitch mount to use in the Class V hitch. That way you will not have to worry about those braces underneath your truck.

Truck is 2001 F250SD 5.4 V8...
If you want a reciever hitch AND the current bumper, either extensive mods are necessary, OR you are SOL.
Maybe find a certified welder that can fabricate a reciever into the existing bumper?
Good luck.
