I just picked up a set of decent doors for my '78, they came with some oddball (to me anyway) mirrors installed on them along with a trio of holes where the previous mirrors were. The passenger door I took the pictures of still has inserts in it but the drivers side are pulled out. My questions are: Where are these mirrors from as I don't believe they're Ford mirrors and is my best option to weld up all the holes and start over with the swing out mirrors from my original doors or what type of mirror am I looking for to install in those front three holes? That's where I'm at more questions than answers haha, just looking for some insight!
X2 on yea they do not look like Ford mirrors and the the 3 holes in front does not look Ford either. I would take those wack looking mirrors off, weld up all the shot gun holes and put some type 9's on and rock it.
Going to have to hijack this, just due to the mirror picture being available. Where can I find the type 7 mirrors? I need one and couldn't find it at LMC while trying to figure out a part number.
My 76 had the type 7. When I broke one I got a set of type 9's and they mounted in the same holes. Still have the good one on the shelf and its been quite a while ago. The pic you posted looks like GM flush mount mirrors were on there at some point.
Thanks for the info on the mirrors!! I know of the other places, and have searched before. But, my lack of sleep over the last couple of days and being busy at work hasn't helped my brain too much. So, I apologize for that. I had checked LMC because I like their diagrams. I usually use those to verify parts, then go find them elsewhere if I can.
I may check on the place in Okarche. It's possible that I'll be over that way this weekend.
Sleep deprivation & busy at work leads to all kinds of issues. Rest up. No need to apologize. Yes their diagrams are nice, but ND has pointed out in the past that their info is wrong. Nothing like hunting parts with the wrong part #.
You going to have lunch at Eischen's Bar (fried chicken) or Countyline Prime ? Then stop by the Expenditure Brewery for a craft brew? I hear you can bring your own food in there or order from nearby restaurants.
I would call Mainer Ford, Okarche, OK has 1 (405) 263-7242 1st, because that is an old quote I posted.
Interesting that my son in law was over in Owasso, OK a while back getting some facebook marketplace auto parts. He got a roll cage for his jeep and picked me up some early Bronco parts. Small world.
Yea, if we get to head that way - Father-In-Law wants to go look at a '68 GTO over that way - I'm going to try and make it a point to go to Eischen's Bar. I've been there a couple of times, years ago, and it's always good. I haven't heard of Countyline Prime. That sounds like a steakhouse.
It is a small world! We've lived here since 2007 and really like it, although it keeps growing and growing. Trying to find land is outrageous! Prices have sky-rocketed over the last several years.
EDIT** Well, Mainer Ford didn't have the mirror. On to other places. I appreciate the help!
Yes that is what I was afraid of, since it was old info. You can always PM mikeo0o0o0 and have him check for it availability again. The reason land if outrageous price wise is they are not making it anymore. I am enjoying my little slice of heaven out in the middle of nowhere.
