I'm a new user and I'm still learning the website so I apologize if I posted this in the wrong area. I have a '78 f250 custom and as you can see in the picture the new vent window seals aren't sealing to the door, I've tried a couple different sets of seals with the same result on both sides. It seals fine everywhere else it's just this 3 or 4 inch area at the bottom of the window that has a gap on the outside. How do I fix this? I followed the instructions and got the window to seal in the vent window assembly but theres nothing telling me how to get the assembly to seal in the door. thanks
Welcome to FTE, is that piece of metal tab still connected and holding the inner and outer door skins together?
If it is not, then there is a chance your door skins have spread apart. And as far as a repair, if the tab is NOT connected, then looks like is might be time to figure out to get the door skins a little closer together. Maybe carefully compress the skins a little closer together and re-weld the tab.
If it is connected might have to cut loose, compress and re-weld.
Only other thought is to ask is the seal on correctly, as in correct side in versus out? I do not know if that are side (L-R), inside-outside specific.

It is still connected, and by the looks in the seals they can only go in one way. Guess I'm looking at cutting and rewelding that tab then. Thanks.
I know that the tab is suppose to be connected on both sides to hold the door skins together. That at least is what is seems like to me. But some times that bracket creates a issue when removing the vent window assembly. The bracket at the bottom of the division bar will get hung up and some times if you are inpatient, that bracket gets cut.
Some black RTV might work in a mean time to keep the rain water out, or just make sure the drains on the bottom of the door are open.
The doors drain alright but the wind noise is so bad I can't even hear myself think when driving. I'll be pulling the windows back out when I get time.
Probably that tab is not connected, if you dont have access to welding it then you can drill a hole to bolt them together, there is one tab from the inner skin and one tab from the outer skin that overlap and get spot welded together at the factory, this can be bolted together, or the redneck way would be a self tapping screw lol
