Hey everyone,
I recently ordered up some parts from LMC and got new window seals etc. so my question is this, not sure of which part number is which now, but the window seal that goes up along the back part of the window/door and across the top of the window.. does that seal just press in or do I need to glue it in. I got the parts in the box but I don't remember any instructions for installation. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Just did mine recently. If you got the vent window seal do it first once you have all the old seals taken out. As far as the lower window seals just go slow and make sure you get them popped in. On mine, the more you take them out, the less well the little clips pop in and hold. Granted I've taken them out 4 times so I can't blame them.
Remove the door panel carefully. Then remove the lone bolt at the bottom of the division bar track to let the glass/fwd track have some more move around room.
X2 on do the division bar (vertical bar that is the back side of the vent wing) 1st starting at the top and work it down. Start at the top where you do not want a gap. Having not enough for the whole track will not really matter down inside the door.
Then with the window all the way down, start at the fwd top part of where the long seal will touch the division bar. Butted right up against the division bar, push it in, no glue should be required, work it in around and starting down and then start the very end of the seal and carefully pull it down the long back side track by reaching inside the door.
Make sense? Also grease the regulator and the bar that the plastic wheel rolls in at the bottom of the window.
Use masking tape on both sides of the door/glass edge is you are replacing the anti rattle strips to prevent tool scratches.
LMC seal are junk IMO, JBG is way better and that is what I use.
Recently did my '74. Toughest part was getting the old brick hard window run felt out. I'm not satisfied with the fit on the outer beltline weatherstrip. JBG was mentioned over LMC. Who is JBG?
You do know that 78/79 Full size Bronco's have pretty much the same interior, front clip and doors as our trucks. Same front suspension as 4wd 1/2 ton F150.
The environmental control panel has a rear window roll down switch, instead of a tank switch. Bronco's also come with OEM bucket seats and a center console that will work in our trucks.
Bronco Graveyard has house-brand rubber that seems "good-enough". I recently did the copper truck with JBG rubber. They also carry Dennis Carpenter rubber, and it is slightly less expensive than just getting it from DC. I used DC Rubber in the yellow truck. Very nice-still perfect after several years
So here is the part I don't like, that contour of the piece does not agree with the door. When installing the hole the last clip agreed with did not seem to be in the same orientation. Did I miss something, after the fact thought maybe a person is supposed to cut reliefs in the metal and shape it to the door. Is what BG selling a better fit. Thanks for any insights.

The DC anri-rattlers fit better than the others, but are more expensive. Also, it seems the inner and outer panels of the door are slightly different, so you might try moving the ill-fitting part to the other door
