I installed new vent window seals while doing electric windows and insulation in the doors of my 77. Now they leak worse! They seem to be seated corectely and there is no adjustment I know of. There must be a trick here. They just don't seem to be able to close far enough to seal the trailing edge of the glass, especially towards the top.
beartracks, are you speaking about the vent window seal. the vent window has an adjustment located at the bottom and controls tention. have you also replaces the wing window slide lock. my 78 has a nylon tab that rubs on the division bar and when it wears down you lose fittment.
Yes the thick triangle seal around the vent glass. Seems well made. The tension spring adjustment doesn't seem to have much impact except to keep the window from swinging free. I will have to pull the doors apart again and "take it out and play with it" some more I guess. There doesn't seem to be anything bent or out of line.
so you had the wing assym out of the door and replaced the rubber seal. iif you removed the wing window there is very little if any adjustment. the attachment points at the top and bottom can be moved a little. now the frame can be moved around, but if i'm understanding you correctly its the wing window/division bar fittment thats not fitting correctly not the door glass/wing window frame fittment right.
