Don't know if I'm commenting in the right way along with these pics but I've got the majority in and I've come to this, the only 2 prong plug coming from the firewall doesn't fit,I read somewhere that the guy had to trim it down to fit but if this is true it will go in either way, shown are the pics of the firewall plug I believe the wires are green and yellow and green and black, could anyone tell me which way (if it even supposed to plug in there) it goes with the red/white coming from the module, also with the painless harness its saying to run its wires the S and I terminals of solenoid-is this necessary on this setup? This is a 1986 by the way...
In the diagram in the previous post, you are looking for c321. That will be a plug that has a whiite/lightblue dots, and a red/lightblue wire (the above diagram is from a 1985). If you look at the diagram, the red/lightblue is the one going to the starter solenoid. That is your start retard feature for the module. If you find the right plug, it should go right in, painless is trying to help you out if you didn't have a stock truck with the stock plugs.
I hope I understand this if I don’t have the C3 21 (I don’t) just run the painless wires over to the starter solenoid as their marked and the plug coming from the module remains unused?
So according to the diagram since I don’t have the c321 male plug the Red from the module needs to go to a key on power source and a wire needs to be ran from the white to the the S on the solenoid and disregard the painless S and I wires?
Kramercd I’m sorry I’m away from the house at the moment and don’t have a pic of the unit but the colors on that side don’t seem to match any diagram or pic I’ve seen of modules so I couldn’t say which was strain relief
Yes but the painless harness doesn’t have the c321 male plug and neither does the oem harness,so I’m trying to figure out where the red/white off the module (c321 female) goes and do I need to disregard the painless wires to S and I on the solenoid
