Is it still true in 2025 that the full blown version of ForScan, the one that can make changes, has to be run on a Windows laptop? I had a licensed version back in 2008 or '09, but hadn't used it since. The laptop has long since fried, I switched to Microsoft SurfacePro's (on my 3rd Version) and I have a farely new Samsung, Android tablet. What do I do now... go look for a cheap windows laptop... just for ForScan???
Yes, Windows for full functionality. With Win 11 requiring everyone to buy a new computer, you should be able to find a Win 10 PC cheap.
From the Forscan website:
Supported platforms:
Windows 2000/XP/Vista/7/8/8.1/10/11 (ELM327-compatible adapters with COM, USB, Bluetooth and WiFi interfaces, J2534 PassThru adapters). Note: only x86/x64 architecture is supported for Windows. ARM architecture is not supported!
iOS v9.0 and higher (OBDLink MX+, ELM327 BLE and WiFi adapters)
Android v4.0 and higher (ELM327 Bluetooth and WiFi adapters)
Question for the group. I just recently bought a 2017 f150 platinum and I didn't get any kind of code for the electronic door lock on the drivers door. Factory or otherwise. Can I use forscan to locate the factory reset code or am I stuck paying the dealership $150 to do it? If forscan can do it where do I look?
Thanks.
I thought of that too. My wifes escape has it up under the dash. We bought it used and we had the same issue. I've been looking all under the dash of the 150. I'll keep digging. Thank you.

Our truck has the code printed on a label under the fuse panel by the passenger-side door.

There is also a simple process you can go through (if you have both key fobs) that displays it on the Sync screen. I recently bought a 19 King Ranch and had the same issue. I found the process on youtube and recovered my code.
