I have an 03 ford excursion gasoline v10 triton.
I have replaced the fuel pump, filter, regulator and the cam n crank sensors dropped a new battery in..
also the original pump was bad new pump works can hear it hum.
changed plugs about 6 months ago.have
have check the fuses and relays all seem good
Problem.
I was going down the road went to give gas and wouldnt take ( it acts like a straight shift out of gear when u give it gas it doesn't do anything) didn't even know the motor wasn't running pulled over to restart and nothing.
when I went to crank it want do anything but try.
I have no pressure at the Schrader value u check for pressure.. Put a pressure tester on it I rented from auto-zone.
I have fire at the plugs..
Help please if you gotta a clue as to what is wrong I'm open to suggestions I don't want to not drive my excursion.
I have not tried any ether spray as I have none.
I have not tested the coils as I don't know how.
I am doing the work myself this is my 1st ford and v10.
I am a "51 yr old female. Not that this matters."
If you can hear the fuel pump hum during the initial key-on sequence but you have no fuel pressure as a result, then either the fuel pump isn't working (internally) or you have a 100% clog/restriction in the fuel supply. The electric motor is just spinning but not doing any work.
Thank u. The fuel pump was replaced.. I'll get them to check the lines as soon as he comes back I have a guy helps me when he can.
it's frustrating to say the least.
It's not throwing codes except for an o2 lean bank 1 n 2. But that's been the case for forever the previous owner chopped the muffler n popped a hole in it for some reason
The OP already stated that a rental gauge from AZ had been used. We can only hope that it was used correctly and that something simple, like using the adapter to depress the stem on the Shrader valve, wasn't overlooked which would have given an incorrect "no pressure" reading.
Adapter was used no pressure... Took line off filter no gas there..
dropping tank again in the morning to check the lines for kinks if nothing then gonna take n replace the complete fuel assembly.
Will update if I get it going..
Also guy put on computer threw no codes...
Hey all
I said I would update y'all
I got the new assembly in and to to excite she crank right up never heard such a beautiful sound.
So the pick up sending line must of been bad. Changed out the entire fuel pump assembly n she is rocking again.
Thank you all for the input.n as promised I stated I would up date.. I hate threads n post that leaving ya hanging with out what make it work again or if they were still looking I hope this helps someone else someday. God bless ya
