I ordered a 2019 F-250 6.2 in May of 2019. In June I received a coupon in the mail for $1,250.00 off of a new super duty truck. The coupon expired at the end of June and my new truck was to be delivered the first part of July. I closed on the truck early to get the discount. My new truck showed up at the dealership on July 5. I picked the truck up that evening. I noticed several paint issues before taking delivery. The dealer said they see issues all the time and that there paint guy would be in that following Wednesday and could buff the areas and it would be perfect. I brought the truck back to the dealership on Wednesday. The paint guy looked at my truck and said the issues were in the paint not the clear and there was nothing he could do. We pulled the truck into the dealerships photo booth and couldn't believe just how bad this paint was. The service manager said he had never seen anything like it. We then contacted Ford Customer Care. What a joke. Between myself and the dealership we dealt with this pathetic organization for over 6 months. The final result was that Ford would completely strip the factory paint off of my new truck and re-paint the whole truck. I took the truck to the Ford recommended body shop. The owner told me that he would not recommend painting the truck. He said he could do it but that it wouldn't be fair to me or the truck because the paint process just isn't the same as factory paint. He agreed with the dealership and myself that the truck should be replaced. Ford would only agree to paint the truck or give me 10% back on top of dealership trade in. The pathetic dealership told me that the trade in value on my truck would be diminished because of the paint issues. The offer from the dealership including Ford's 10% offer was $7,000.00 difference on trade for another truck just like mine. How in the hell this truck got through Ford's quality control is a mystery. The pictures were taken at the Ford dealerships photo booth. The service manager marked the paint issues.
Holy crap, that's a lot flaws. I can see a couple in your photos, are they all similar looking and in the base coat?
I can go around my truck and find imperfections, I'm sure a body shop could point out more, but nothing that is so big and noticeable that I want to do anything about it.
Yep. Everything is in the base coat. The service manager said it looks like something drug up over the truck during the paint process. He said they cover the robot paint arms with plastic and is thinking some of that might have come loose. It's hard to see the flaws in the pictures as I stood back while the service manager was doing his thing.
It’s disgusting that FORD is handling this mess this way. Customer service like this forces people to look at other brands & local dealer service. With 2 new Fords due in next month I still have time to swing by the Dodge dealer. Good luck!
The paint on my 2019 has flaws in it also, but not as bad as yours. On the rear passenger door I have a shadow in the paint that is about 10" in diameter but you can only see it in the right light. I also have a handful of spots where it looked like dirt got under the clearcoat.
I wouldn't have accepted that truck. I would have left it on the lot for Ford to take back.
Sorry you are having to deal with this mess.
I think I would park that truck in the showroom (the hard way) on top of a GT500. My insurance deductible is a lot less than $7,000. Sad FORD looks the other way on stuff like this.
You ordered this truck and spent seriously money here. To me this is very unacceptable and the dealership should replace this free of charge in my opinion. I received my 2019 around the time you did. When I arrived at the dealership the salesman let me take as much time as I needed to look it over and drive it before I even wrote the check. If that were mine I would have walked away. This is not fair to you. I hope the dealership will make this right.
I have paint issues with mine as well, it seems with ingot silver it's a common thing, I complained at the dealership before handing over my cheque, they said the issues you have noticed, noone else would, BUT THEY WERE THERE!
I do see it being a little blotchy on the one door, but only in the right light, I'll try and get an angle of that later today, was I found a few little specs of grit under the paint, I was near the bottom of the door and running board, I looked at 5 other trucks very closely and they all had the same BS in the paint, no matter what color they were
We talked for about an half hour I wanted 1000$ off they said no way, they said before we give you 1000$ back, they will repaint the whole side of my truck, as that is their insurance deductible.
We settled on 500$ cheque from ford
I'll post pics later today, and yes there were other trucks on the lot with the same issues
They also showed me a picture of a 2019 navigator with a mosquito under the clear coat, dead center of the hood
The more and more I read on this fourm with brand new vehicles with issues and imperfections the more and more I get upset

I wouldn't wish Ford's so called customer service team on anybody. No professionalism at all. Hell, most of the time you are talking with representatives in the Philippines. That's what Ford thinks about there customer base.

I called them once to ask a question, and they were a bunch of f****** ****** that didnt know nothing about nothing, it was worse than when a telemarketing called me and I called them. They couldn't even tell me when the cut off date would be to build a 19 superduty in Canada

Hard to understand why Ford is letting these paint issues reach the dealerships.
Sooooo the bottom line is their mistake is gonna cost you 7 grand or you keep a truck that looks like crap. Yikes.
Yep. That's Ford's answer. I talked with an attorney. He said that as long as Ford is offering any kind of fix it would be a long and potentially expensive road to get anything done.
I wouldn't have accepted that truck. I would have left it on the lot for Ford to take back.
Sorry you are having to deal with this mess.
They told me I already owned the truck because I closed on it early for the discount coupon I received in the mail. They also told me the paint issues were normal and that they fix the issues all the time. They were well aware of the paint issues before I left the dealership.
