On top of that lousy paint job, I'll bet the bed and cab are not lined up. Ford's fit and finish is very poor.

The doors sure don't fit. Uneven gaps everywhere. Reminds me of the cars built in the 70's.

I ordered my 250 Lariat in May. It was delivered with a broken windshield. It took 3 days to replace the windshield. I looked the truck over in the bright sun. When I arrived at work I kept checking it out. I found a dent in the front fender a dent on the wheel well in the bed and several scratches in the bed. I called the dealer immediately and sent them pictures. They set up their paintless dent removal guy and he repaired the fender perfectly in 15 minutes. He would not however fix the dent inside the bed because it was creased. He said he feared the metal would crack if he pushed it out. I can see his point. My intent was to Linex so I let it go. But I think the issues in the bed were because the windshield came in and some jerkoff shoved it into my brand new bed with total disregard.
My paint is Magnetic. If I wanted to be super critical I can find some issues but overall its beautiful. They have taken care of any minor issues Ive had immediately.
I still dont want to go to the dealer for anything but warranty work if I have no other choice.
I bought my last new ford in 1995. I had issues with it and Ford was unresponsive. I had problems with 2 previous Fords and they were infuriatingly unresponsive. I have not considered a Ford since 1998 when I traded the F-150 off for another brand.
They lost me for 20 years and I had bought many Fords prior to that. My first car was a 1962 Galaxy 500.
Weve been leasing Infinitis for my wife for 3 leases now. Zero issues in any way. If they built a truck I wanted I would have bought from them.
I love my truck so far but with 8,000 miles I still have a long way to go.

To the OP Im glad you did ok with the Ram. I was thinking while reading your posts that after Ford agreed to repaint and their own recommended shop refused... I imagine having those things in writing should have gotten some satisfaction for you. I would have been pissed off.

I helped my sister buy a brand new Toyota Celica back in about 1980. The deal included floor mats. They did not include them at delivery. They kept coming up with one reason after another for several weeks. I had enough and one Saturday I spent a while working on my Harley and got all greasy... I went and parked in front of their dealership and spoke to every customer who walked in... telling them how they can not trust any deal based on our experience. Understand that in that time doctors and lawyers did not ride Harleys... A greasy biker was a greasy biker. Very bad for business.... They brought the floor mats out... I said thanks, wasnt that easy...

Dealerships suck. Buying a new vehicle is a burden not a pleasure for me.

Agree with everything you said. The dealership experience is a nightmare at best. They are your best friend until you have an issue you need resolved. Just do the right thing in the first place and everyone walks away happy.

Amen to that... I absolutely HATE the dealership experience. Nickel and dime you, guilt you on trade in, once you put the cash down they're happy as can be but when there's an issue forget about it. Pulling teeth. When i bought my 2018 f250 platinum, the vehicle prep person kneeled on the back panel of the pano sunroof and shattered it... that delayed my delivery by nearly a week. Such a bonehead move I couldn't believe it.

I try to stay out of the dealership as much as i physically can, only time i'll go back is if there's a warranty issue. Maybe one day i will actually have a pleasant dealership experience, but for some reason i doubt that lol

I know most dealerships suck, mine really and truly does not. Bunch of normal guys, selling cars and trucks for $50 over invoice, and more often than not, below that. No pressure, lots of knowledge, good people. I actually chatted with my salesman when I was taking delivery of my 20 about this very topic. Customers are programmed to hate the experience, and are always waiting for the other shoe to drop when visiting Louisburg Ford in Louisburg KS...and it never does.

There are good dealers out there that won't screw you, but there seem to be more that will. Come to Kansas, and drive it home...for some of you it will be broken in by the time to arrive! LOL

Having worked in the industry since 2003, that advice from the body shop is correct. There is no way in hell I'd accept a "full paint job" as a fix on a new vehicle.

I agree with you. I grew up in Kansas. Good honest hard working people there. You get around the more populated areas in this country and all common sense and ideology go into the crapper.

There is absolutely no reason that all auto manufacturer's shouldn't be able to apply silver paint absolutely perfect. The process is so lame that it just shows up in the silver more than other colors.

Yeah! Another vote for Kansas. I'm in the "right-sized" small town of Girard, KS where a traffic jamb is too many cows at the cattle crossing.

OOPS--did I really say that. I have had a Toyota in my garage since 1976. Never had a quality control issue and until I do, yes I will feel this way. .
First, I am sorry you are going through this. The amount these vehicles cost, nobody should have to deal with it.

Now, to turn it around, the dealer is right, you signed for a truck that could not be delivered and you own it. There are several issues with this. 1) your dealer can NOT sell a truck that can not be delivered. They also cant report the sale to Ford when it hasnt been delivered. Can not believe Ford has not come down on them for it (dealer probably didnt mention this to them. 2) You and your dealer committed fraud. You were NOT entitled to the rebate and the rebate specifically states you MUST take delivery by X date (if it wasnt price protected). Essentially whether you like to hear it or not, you stole $1,250 from ford for a cash rebate you were not entitled/eligible to/for. Dealers should get in trouble for pulling this crap.

Enjoy your new Ram.. hopefully you will have many trouble free years in it.

I would say thats a bit dramatic, and Ford does have ways of auditing these transactions, and if it's that big of a deal I'm sure the dealer will hear about. Saying the buyer stole the rebate isn't exactly accurate either, the buyer never has posession of any actual Ford $$, the dealer facilitates a discount for the buyer and is 100% responsible for the transaction.
