First, I am sorry you are going through this. The amount these vehicles cost, nobody should have to deal with it.
Now, to turn it around, the dealer is right, you signed for a truck that could not be delivered and you own it. There are several issues with this. 1) your dealer can NOT sell a truck that can not be delivered. They also cant report the sale to Ford when it hasnt been delivered. Can not believe Ford has not come down on them for it (dealer probably didnt mention this to them. 2) You and your dealer committed fraud. You were NOT entitled to the rebate and the rebate specifically states you MUST take delivery by X date (if it wasnt price protected). Essentially whether you like to hear it or not, you stole $1,250 from ford for a cash rebate you were not entitled/eligible to/for. Dealers should get in trouble for pulling this crap.
Enjoy your new Ram.. hopefully you will have many trouble free years in it.
For the amount of BS this guy has gone thru, if you added another zero to the $1250 ( $12,500 ) it still wouldn't be enough money to make me happy for the garbage they delivered to him!
I would say thats a bit dramatic, and Ford does have ways of auditing these transactions, and if it's that big of a deal I'm sure the dealer will hear about. Saying the buyer stole the rebate isn't exactly accurate either, the buyer never has posession of any actual Ford $$, the dealer facilitates a discount for the buyer and is 100% responsible for the transaction.
You sign a paper turning your rebate over to the dealer in order to reduce the cost of the vehicle. It is not the dealers rebate, it is yours.
If you dont sign it, then Ford mails you a check. No matter which way you slice it, it is a rebate someone was not entitled to and $1,250 Ford should not have lost/paid out.
Not really blaming the OP, just saying this transaction should never have been allowed. What if the train derailed and truck was damaged in transit. Just so many reasons to never sign papers and own something weeks before you see it.

Completely agree (yet if he didnt sign papers weeks early, he would not have been in this position). How the hell that truck rolled through QC I have no clue. Unfortunately this is happening everywhere within Ford. Seen a few new Explorers and Aviators with paint blobs under the clear.. had a new Aviator about to be delivered with tons of paint defects and the owner got a new one (never signed papers, lincoln found him another and expedited it to him).
I just found out last night my ST has 2 missing parts from the factory and I know I am going to have to fight Ford on this. On is a wind deflector for the rear 1/3 of the vehicle underneath. QC is non existant.
Honestly a paint job is all your going to get out of it or the screwing on a new one. I would tell them your fine with a strip and paint but it will be done by some reputable paint and body shop of your choice not theirs. I would rather have it done by a human than a robot the robot done screwed it up once.

Not sure why he is bumping this thread, he has already gotten out from under that truck and into a RAM, it's over.
He keeps bumping it because it's very important to inform the public when there are quality control issues and customer service issues. Unfortunately, the new way in this country is to ignore issues. I don't agree with this policy. Companies that treat there customer base like scum should be exposed. If you don't ;like it, don't read it.

"He" is you, and I'm all for bringing poor quality, service, sales etc. into the public eye. But there is no need to keep bumping a thread that has already been resolved, and is still on the site if anyone were to search.
Should we all just keep bumping every thread that discusses quality control issues or poor service indefinitely? Even the ones that have been resolved? Do you have any idea how many of these threads are on this site?
Also, I have not seen this "new way" you speak of, in this country.
I guess if he keeps bumping it for no reason, I'll just keep posting that he should never have signed for a truck that locked him into owning it before it arrived and taken a rebate he wasnt eligible for.
I wasn't eligible for the rebate? According to the very professional and qualified Ford customer service team and the dealership I purchased the truck from I was eligible. How could I use a rebate I wasn't qualified for? Seems to me that the truck should have met quality control protocol and that there should have been no issues with the new truck I ordered. Oh, I forgot, Ford has no control over quality control and doesn't care about there product. Get em sold boys.

Very simple, you MUST take delivery by the time the rebate expires. You did not, the truck was not at the dealers in time for you to take delivery. So again, you were NOT eligible for the rebate.

I did take delivery because the title work and all paperwork was finished. How do you think you buy a new ordered vehicle sight unseen and have it shipped to your front door. Hmm--I guess the vehicle would be yours before delivery. I've ordered new vehicles and gone through the process.

No you didnt. You can not take delivery of a vehicle that has not landed at a dealer yet.

This makes sense. I really didn't think about it. The dealership said they do it all the time and there are no issues. Looking back, I guess I was just caught up in saving the $1,250.00 and trusting Ford to deliver a quality product.
