The wiring harness for my third brake light has seen it’s better days and the lense was a bit rough so I decided to replace it. Ended up with a smoked LED unit. This was my second choice as I wanted to keep the red lens but the wiring on my first pick was junk and I didn’t want it on the truck with that trash.
Here is the one that originally ordered. The wires plug into the bulb sockets and the harness just lays hanging free. It doesn’t have a place for you to twist them in so they will not flop around. I was not a fan. It was disappointing as I like the more factory appearance with the red lens.
So led there can mess with the cruise control? Thats poopy
Yes, they can mess with cruise and the torque converter on the autos and cause some weird shifting problems. I know that is the case for LED replacement bulbs. Both of mine are full light replacements. The taillights came with individual control boxes for the lights so these may not affect anything but since I can’t confirm it because of the options on my specific truck. If someone is close with an auto and wants to test drive these to check for problems I would be glad to do it
Well I finally got around to installing a new dash bezel. It went in pretty well and looks good without any cracks like my OEM one had. I did some cleaning while I had it apart and apparently dorked up the temp gauge. Vanilla Ice ain’t got nothin’ on me.
I guess I will take it back apart and see if I can get it back going in the right direction.
