Hey all, In the wiring phase and been playing with my old horn. cleaned it up and played with the gap on points as I was cleaning. it works and now figured Id ask Is there a recommended gap?
got it, just happy I got one working, gona play with the second one later but still cant figure out where it was mounted when i tore it down a few years back. the photo I didnt take.......
Later horns have a current adjustment nut, for a specific current draw during testing. 12 volt system is spec at 9 to 10 amps, I bet it's a pretty hefty draw on a 6 volt system? I assume they are louder at the higher current adjustment?

On a 48, I believe they were mounted on the front side of the radiator.
Yes, Got the front side of the radiator mount dialed in. it was the second one that I dont know where it was mounted? May just go with one as its the one ive got cleaned up and working. Still have to solder some new wires on
AFAIK, the early trucks only had one horn. To the best of my knowledge twin horns started as part of the "Extra Cab" deluxe package, beginning in 1951.
