When I did my engine swap I installed a new Motorcraft water pump. Made in Canada, not China. That was over 2 years ago and have put 40,000 miles on it since. No leaks or issues with it.
I'll have to look in the ole' Ford Truck Shop manual to be sure, but as I recall it used to be any leaks (or seeps) from the water pump is listed as cause for replacement.
Thats always been my experience
i get a drop or two may be normal in extreme temp changes or something, but nowhere near like this
this is fas past a drop or two
they havent given me any hssles with warranty other than the massive amount of time wasted
Maybe I'm mis-remembering. Only thing I can find so far in the manual says
"The water pumps have a sealed bearing integral with the water pump shaft. The bearing requires no lubrication. A bleed hole in the water pump housing allows water that may leak past the seal to be thrown out by the slinger. This is not a lubrication hole."
They don't want anyone to oil it or stuff grease in it obviously.
I can see where a few drops leakage is no big deal, but when that happens it's likely time to start looking for a new one I'd think. Can't remember ever seeing any coolant from the weep hole.
