You lucky fart .I bought for an escape but opted for just the key with vat and that wash expensive enough. A full blown key with opener on it was right in the range of the previous quote.

I got my OEM key fob from https://www.fordpartsgiant.com/ at a nice deal. Their prices are way better than dealer and they ship fast.

OP, you're walking a tight rope. If you only have 2 keys, if you lose 1, the cost of a replacement is at a minimum $100 plus the inconvenience.
you can buy blank factory Ford keys online, have them cut locally, and program them yourself, but this DIY only works if you have 2 keys.
