spare keys...???

spare keys...???
My wife brought home an '04 Exp. It only has one key. Apparently they have the chip in them and can't be reproduced with dealer help? How can I get another key made and how much should it cost?

Buy the blank on eBay and have it cut anywhere you have keys cut. I think you need two original keys to self program but not exactly sure. Otherwise the dealer may need to program for you. Shouldn't be more than 1 hr labor...maybe $70 plus the cost of the eBay key.

I just bought an 2000 EXPY and onnly got one key. Bought an original Ford key & fob off Ebay for $32 shipped and had dealer cut key, set fob and program key for $92.. Now I have a set and may buy another key/fob set-up just to have extra....

Check you local Locksmith - Had mine cut and programed there for around 40 bucks.
Check E-Bay for keys - For around 20 bucks I got my key free with purchase of a remote (actually ended up buying 2 extra remotes and getting two free keys)
