That almost sounds like a belt or pulley chirp. There's another sound like that you don't want to go to right now.

If it is a belt or pulley, releasing the belt through the tensioner and restarting for 15-30 seconds would distinguish that.

You can take the belt off and start the truck... if its a belt noise, it will go away. Don't run it long that way.

I agree with the squeak and Randy's idea on belt off testing.

Looks like the sound was just the belt, thank God. I had automatically feared the worst. Drove the truck about 75 miles today, so far everything seems to be ok.

Happy that it's only the belt.
You will find a lot of people go for the worst.
Like my rear differential work. They had said $800 and it turned out to only be $300.
