No I haven’t had a chance, it started raining last night after I got the injector out. Hopefully tomorrow, it’s supposed to be raining again tonight by the time I get off work. It definitely had one in there when I put it in

Those little nibs are usually the first to burn out with a loose injector, so they don't always come out.

So I got my camera and so far I can’t find the copper washer. I’m positive it was on there when I installed it though. What should I be looking for when looking at the piston?

Preferable like the one on the left, not the right.

Or some of these....

My pistons were fine, the rebuilder just doesn't know how to machine a block.

Ok I’ll check it out tomorrow. Assuming it looks ok should I install the same injector with new orings and copper washer? Should I clean the end of the injector where it’s all black? As long as I’m certain the old copper washer isn’t in the injector bore is it ok if I Can’t find it?

The injector should be cleaned with something like a fine scotchbrite, the bottom sealing end should be inspected to ensure it wasn't burned, all the o-ring need to be replaced with a Ford or Alliant resealing kit, and of course the new copper washer. Reinstalling and running is the only way to see if the injector was hurt and needs to be replaced unless you see a cracked tip. You can always show a picture of the cleaned tip and base here for comments.

I had cylinder 2 show a slightly lower contribution when cold using IDS relative compression but was fine when it warmed. When I pulled the motor down this is what the injector hole looked like.

And this is what it looked like when I was done the cleaning. You want it as clean as you can.

I just pulled this from the parts box. Here is how mine came out of the head after 75k miles.

If I need to do anything with the o-ring groove it will be with a soft brass brush.

What the sealing surface of the injector looked like protected by the copper washer.

My cleaning that surface with a soft 96 ScotchBrite pad lightly.

Do you guys know how the ford warranty works? Can i just take it to the local dealer or does it have to go through ficm repair since that’s where I purchased it? Tried calling but local dealer is closed already and Ed isn’t available to talk to today

Scott would of been able to answer that question also.
Myself I am not sure of that. You can use the FICMrepair "Contact Us" form <<< link
on the FICM repair site and Ed might see that over the weekend.
