I am finally getting ready to bite the bullet on replacing my injectors, 2006 CC 4WD. I have # 1 injector diagnosed as faulty by ford. Since I know I have some stiction issues, I am going to do all 4 on that bank while I have it apart. I know I am going to go strictly with Ford injectors, anyone know where would be the best price? I had heard that Tousley has good pricing, just curious if anyone found them cheaper elsewhere. Best I found was $220 + core which I will get back. Also I have been reading lots of threads but was hoping someone could just let me know what if any special tools were needed? I have a full set of tools, but wanted to make sure that I had what was needs as far as allen / torx sockets for anything special. Also is there anything special I need to be concerned about as far as oil / fuel leaking into the cylinder when I pop the injector out? I know I have to make sure the injector hold down hole is clean and the copper washer is out, but will anything leak into the cylinder once I pull the injector? Thanks.
The only Torx bit you'll need is a T40...will need the Torx shank to be at least 4" long to get past the side of the spool valve on the injector. Since your working on the odd numbered side of the engine...a 12mm flexible "gear wrench" for the two bolts at the rear of the valve cover near the HVAC box.
I've never worked on '05-'07 engine...so I don't know if you'll need a die-grinder wrench to unhook the flexible hose connection to the "W" pipe.
For the record (I'm sure I'll get blasted for this) I've never cleaned out the injector cup when I've replaced an injector. I make sure all the the copper washers & o-rings on them...but I've never been too concerned by the little bit of fuel at the bottom of the cup.

Same I don't overly worry about the cups, I usually twist up a paper towel and put them into the cups and that's it
