Hey everyone I got a 1995 f350 with a E4OD and when I start driving it will shift fine but sometimes it will slip and then won’t go but it’s still in drive and I can rev it out and then it will cut back on and continue to drive please lmk what I can do before buying a new trans! Thank in advance for the info!
Get a 0-350 PSI gauge with a 1/8" NPT thread. Install it in the test port on the driver's side of the trans. Check the pressure with the engine at idle in PRND21. Also check it in RD21 at stall. Stall is in gear, left foot HARD on the brake, and the right foot holding the go pedal on the floor. CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD STALL FOR MORE THAN 5 (FIVE) SECONDS AT A TIME! Idle or fast idle in neutral for at least 30 seconds between stall tests.
If the brake lights are not working right it will affect the lockup torque converter.

Stall in a transmission is when the truck is stopped, you have your left foot holding the brake pedal as hard as you can. the trans in 1 or 2, and you press the accelerator to the floor. Stall speed is the engine speed when you do this.
CAUTION: DO NOT HOLD STALL FOR MORE THAN 5 (FIVE) SECONDS AT A TIME. IDLE OR FAST IDLE IN NEUTRAL OR PARK FOR AT LEAST 30 SECONDS AFTER EACH STALL TEST.
