Hello! This is my first post, im green so forgive me if I'm a noob at anything here, I'm sure this has been covered somewhere but I can't find anything.
I have a rebuild title truck that seems to put together from alot of different parts, from what I can tell it's a 1995 f250 7.3L IDI 4x4, E40D transmission
Starter went and chewed a bunch of teeth off the ring gear, I've now pulled the trans to replace it.
The issue I'm having is that I can't seem to get the correct flex plate, the converter spacing is fine but the bolt pattern for the crank is wrong, I've spent about an hour in local parts stores searching everything for an 88-03 with the 7.3 in it and all have come up an incorrect flexplate, the bolt spacing is too large, my bolt spacing is approximately 3 and 3/8ths of an inch, torque converter is around 11 and 7/16ths and it is 155 teeth on the ring gear. All the flex plates I can find are also 155 teeth, but the spacing for the crank bolts is closer to 3 and 1/2 to 3 and 1/4 inches.
If anyone happens to know what flex plate I need and what vehicle this is out of that would be greatly appreciated!!

now that i reread your post, are you sure you don't have a PSD? IDI's weren't made in '95
PSD also has 6 stud Torque Converter ... the Flex plate in his pictures are 4 stud and looks like Z344, I assume that is his Flexplate that he wants to change ???

Yup as the ring gear is welded to it instead of pressed on like a traditional flywheel.
Looks like the Z344, if it has 9 holes (technically 10 but they have a blank spot on the idi) but the pattern is too big around then it's for the psd.
The auto parts store is likely giving you the runaround because there computer probably thinks there the same from 89-97 88 was c6
Try somewhere else, your best bet would be a mom and pop owned Napa or carquest, just something with people that know what the hell there doing if the computer ain't right.
