I have cleaned the nrw rubber seal for the rear window. I have placed the rear window in its groove. I have placed a rope in the smaller groove. I am not sure about the next step. Different places say different things. I think the window goes inside the truck and I pull the rope outside. So the big lip is in the inside? I have the rope ends crossed at the the top. So I start pulling from the top and work down to the bottom?
From the inside place the rear window in place and have someone hold it with the rope facing to the rear. from the outside start pulling the rope working your way around the window. Top or bottom doesn't really matter. I started at the bottom. As you pull whoever is holding it pushes in on it to help seating it. I soaked my rope in soapy water and used sil-glyde lube on the seal. Helped alot. I had never done it before and it went in easy.
I just put mine in last night. Do as mentioned abv. My friend is a auto glass guy so he helped. He likes to start the rope on one side of the window but probably doesn't matter. Use lots of lube on the seal, he just uses that Gojo hand cleaner. Have buddy push on the inside. They actually go in pretty easy.
Once again. Thanks for all the help! I used paracord in the small groove . Placed rear window on the inside of truck on the ledge. Pulled cord from the bottom middle and worked my way around on each side of the bottom, up the sides and little by little across each side of the top. Went on actually easier than I thought it would. Thanks again.
You have to be very careful using those steel picks, better to use what Bob posted. The slightest chip in the edge of the glass can create a crack fairly quickly.
