I wanting to remove my rear slider window and replace the window seal and clean and tint my rear window . has any one removed just the glass or dose the whole thing need to come out.
There is a procedure in the shop manual. You need to work the rubber gasket off the truck . Start at one end. Once enough gasket is off the rest just comes out easily. You need to take the window and the gasket out. Not just the window.
The sliding glass doesn't come out... not unless you remove the entire back window anyway (maybe not even then)?
The window comes out towards the bed, just start at a corner push it out around the edges from inside the cab and have someone catch it ones it comes free.
To put it in, you put the seal around the window, drop some rope into the groove, and place the window against the cab. Pull the rope thru and it'll draw the seal lip back in.
Be careful not to rip the seal though. The rope I used ended up being a bit on the thin side so I damaged my seal where the rope cut into it.
