FOMOCO PHASERS
BTW, did you put new sensors in the timing cover, or re-use the old ones? Hopefully you're replacing every sensor with a new one. It's cheap insurance in the long run.
I'm thinking to use otc tool 6681 to tighten phasers bolt.
Take off cam caps and set cams in the correct lobed position then put caps back loose.
If cams are loose all valves are closed?? so I should be able to spin crankshaft clockwise until the key way is at 6 o'clock position.
Fit chains according to marks.
QUESTION: after chains fitted but guide tensioner not installed should I spin crankshaft key way back to 11 o'clock before tightening down the cam caps?? When is it safe to tighten down cam caps is my question, I can't even find the answer with Ford Makuloco haha. Thanks fellers!
Keyway at 11:00 is right - THE "DOT" on crank gear goes at 6:00.
I 'very carefully' put ll my roller / followers in place - then set cams down (very gently ) on them. Then installed caps / bolts a little bit at a time up and down the four cam caps until they were torqued properly. A roller or two got knocked over only a couple of times - but was able to squeze them back in placee..

Now you want to put the crank key at 11 oclock. This puts all of the pistons down in the hole enough so the valves dont hit.
Install the new lash adjusters and rockers.
Place the cams on the heads close to where they need to go for the timing marks and chains to be in time.
Loosly install the cam caps (I hope you kept them in order) and tighten the bolts a little at a time to bring the cam down evenly. Its ok if they rotate a little the pistons are down enough. Make sure you lube the journals. The cam cap bolts torque to 89 in-lbs.
Install the timing guides and chains making sure the double colored link is on the cam and the single link is on the crank. The phasers have two marks, a L and a R. The L is driver's side and R is passenger side. Its ok to have to turn the cam to line up the marks. The driver's side tensioner arm has a bump made on it at the pivot. Double check and check again the timing marks, especially on the crank because its mark is at 7 oclock and its easy to get it a tooth off. Don't forget the crank sensor tone wheel the teeth face towards the timing cover.

There were a couple more peices I'd found later tucked in to engine cavities, seems i couldn't produce enough peices to equivalate an entire guide.
I couldn't seem to post pics on the private message B0$$ but here Ya go! Again thank all You fellers for helping through this process!! You're all greatly appreciated
