Nothing like some good ole AC! I wish they still put them on modern vehicles
I agree. Everything is streamlined for aerodynamics now. You're getting me motivated to go take a look see, the door panel is just a few #2 Phillips screws.
I checked, and I think the extension broke off, the spring is still there. I'm not bendy enough to be able to actually look up in there. I have a handle on what needs to be done though, thanks again. Might be a good winter project.
Though FWIW i didn't have to remove the rear window track at all. BUT a key thing you may need to do to get the vent window out that was left out above is removal or the window run felts and the beltline felts (basically the anti-rattlers). I dont think you'll be able to get the vent out w/o first removing these. And when you remove these you essentially destroy them.

I didnt have to remove any if the felts to remove the vent, but I did unbolt the track (front track by the vent) as well. Not saying what I did was "correct", but it worked for me.

Apparently not from the pictures in your other thread.
I'm in a similar predicament with my '65 F250. When I bought it, the driver's side vent window was in the passenger seat, and the pivot stud was (and still is) lodged in the door. I can order all the parts from various vendors, but based on what I've read on this site, I wanted buy the weather seal from Dennis Carpenter. As it turns out, Dennis Carpenter is sold out of that part, and they told me they have no estimated restock date.
Does anyone sell weatherstripping that is of similar quality to Dennis Carpenter? I'd like to avoid the LMC seals. C&G Ford Parts uses the original part number like DC. Anyone have experience with them? I also found some made by Fairchild. Thanks for any input.
Ask NPD they probably have DC seals. I found that DC supplies other vendors more than keeping stock in their store. I was at DC a few months back and was picking up a headliner, their counter catalog showed the price at $159 but it rang up $219 (new price). I told them to keep it and went down the road to NPD and bought the same DC headliner for $159.
