Recently ive been having an issue with my hvac system. When i use my window washer fluid, i can smell it in air coming in from the vents. Same thing happens at stop lights cause my CCV vents inside the engine bay (gonna be fixed today). If anyone's got any ideas i would appreciate the tips.
Maybe the box holding your A/C evaporator coil is damaged or not sealed correctly? I did a video up a while back about how to get to the coil and remove part of the box. Maybe follow this and see if you see anything obvious.
What about the 1" black hose that runs from motor to blower housing, called the blower motor cooling tube... is it firmly in place? Or perhaps have a crack or hole in it ? It is a rather cheap hose and considering that it is like 20 years old.... check it out.
I can smell the washer fluid every time through the vents if I am in Vent or AC. I believe they pull outside air from the cowl area in those modes.
In Max AC it only circulates cabin air and closes off the outside air. Perhaps if your smelling outside odors in all HVAC modes you have an actuator issue or vacuum leak in the system.
I haven't had time to delve into this issue yet. With finals coming up and work on the days i don't have class, i probably wont get to fix this until this or next weekend
