I am looking to replace all the components in my a/c and heater box. Does anyone know of a place that sells rebuilt a/c systems. I want to replace the evap. coil, heater coil and blower motor. Would like to find a nice complete system that I can purchase. Another question, does anyone know if it will ruin your a/c system to have it open to the elements. I have been told that if the stsyem is left open it would have to be replaced. Thanks
after you remove evap coil you need to some how cap off the refer. lines. When you get all your parts back in truck you need to replace your filter drier, and pull a 500 micron vacuum on the system before you put freon back into it. While your into it, replace all the o-rings even on the compressor. by the way, hold on to your hat when you hear how much a new evap. coil is, you can pick up a drier at advance auto parts for about 20-30 bucks also might want to replace the txv (thermal expansion valve) also at advance auto about 15 bucks
Thanks Pontiac, I was going to replace everything anyhow cause the A/C was not hooked up or working when I got the truck. Im hoping the systems that old air, vintage air or nastagic air will fit. I think I can get everything there except the evap coil that goes in my box and I know NPD had it for about $200. I want to switch to the 134a system.
