Hi fellas, I'm new to the forum and a new diesel owner. I have a stock '12 F350 Lariat 4X4 6.7L with almost 140,000 miles on it. I bought it 4 months ago and I just had to replace the EGR cooler, I replaced all the gaskets and put new coolant in. It ran great for about 100 miles and all of a sudden the turbo lost boost. Shutting it down and popping the hood I found that I forgot to tighten the hose clamp on the air intake. I started it back up and the turbo came back to life but shortly after that the check engine light came on pulling the codes P0401 & P132B. Has anyone had any experience with this? Hopefully I didn't make a mistake putting it all back together. Thanks for any advice!
I don't have any experience with either of your codes but here is what the service manual has to say about them. Hopefully somebody with experience will chime in.
Both codes can be set if the MAP sensor is bad. Any possibility it got bumped or contaminated?
Thanks for the replies! I wasn't working near the sensor itself but the wiring looks like it was clipped to the back of the EGR cooler housing, which I did remove. It's possible the wiring got yanked on or pinched I guess. I'd have to take the whole thing out and drain all the coolant again to check. I've never cleaned a MAP sensor but that would be worth a try as it's right there on top. Has anyone changed out their EGR and had to remove the two 1" or so pipes in the top left of the picture with the expansion joints? I wonder if I got a bad gasket or one of those is leaking? I'll try the easiest stuff first. I've barely driven it since the light came on. Thanks again guys!
A piece of junk can foul up a MAP sensor. Had this happen twice before. Once at the replacement of the turbo and again at the replacement of the EGR cooler.core.
Right on, I'm going to get some MAF cleaner and clean the MAP sensor as well. I'll disconnect both batteries for a few hours too. That should clear the codes right? Thanks for the advice!!! I'll let ya know how this goes
disconnecting the batteries probably won't work, Since you don't have a code reader you could stop by someplace like Autozone and have them clear the codes..
Ok. The map sensor and port were completely clogged. I cleaned that and the maf sensor with electrical cleaner and maf cleaner. Reconnected the batteries and when I turned the key to charge the glow plugs I heard a kind of thump or bang come from the engine compartment. The truck started a bit rough but then idled as normal. No check engine light but the yellow wrench light came on. The turbo boost is reading 35psi at idle. I turned the truck off and back on, boost is still at 35psi. Wrench light went off and check engine is back on. Drove it a quarter of a mile slowly and the boost stayed at 35psi. Now I'm pulled over wondering if I should go the 15 min drive to have the code read?
When you disconnected the battery it tripped the wrench code. I ran my batteries down on my 2011. Had to get the dealer to clear it. Now I have a OBII reader and Torque Pro app on my phone. Look up torque pro here and read up on it.
