Hey Guys, I have seen posts about the 6.2 having a "lifter tick". Has anyone had a "knock"? I have a 2019 F-250 with 600 miles on it. It has a cold start knock, does not seem to get louder or faster when the engine speeds up. Actually seems like it goes away when I rev it up a little. Goes away all together after I drive it and the engine warms up. Could this hopefully be anything other than a rod starving for oil? I have not brought it back to the dealer yet because it seems to only happen when it is first started up and not driven yet.
Apparently this is normal for ford motors to knock ,tick, clack, cam phasers go out at 20 miles and have metal shavings in the oil . Just ask the idiot's they have working at the stealership
Cam phasers went out on my brand new 2019 50 thousand dollar truck on way home from picking up at dealer . Took it back they said daaaaaaaa it's normal so I broke out the video I took where truck sounds like farm tractor . They said aaaaadaaaaaa that ain't normal .they replaced cam phasers it was good for another 20 or so miles then back to farm tractor but not quite as bad now they say daaaaa we don't hear anything and can't pinpoint where noise is coming from . Just drive it till it blows up then we will know what it is . The sound my truck makes is under power the only way to enjoy driving is in rain or radio up. The people working at the dealers probably worked at Wal-Mart a few weeks ago they don't care it ain't there money and they don't want to do warranty work . They want it out of warranty so they make money . Ford makes a good truck .engine I'm thinking not so good anymore . FORD FIRE YOUR IDIOT ENGINEERS AND GET SOMEONE THAT KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!
Hope you have a better dealer than I do . New motors should not make noise like a lot of people are reporting I don't care what anyone says . Some say a the 6.2 are noisey motors bull I had a 2016 that never sounded that way and that truck got used hard. My 2019 has 1500 miles on it and sounds like it has 200 thousand miles what a piece of junk ! Truck was at stealership for 64 days ! And still is not right . I was supper nice never got mad or raised my voice . I called ford "motor" co they were nice at first but then stoped returning calls and email so we just got a lawyer . Punk sales guy said we will make it right or we will get you a new truck yea that did not happen . I don't wish bad on people but I do hope the people at ford buy a new vehicle some time and go through and get treated the way they have treated me

From what I recall you got an attorney weeks ago. Any updates on your truck?
Nothing I figure they are going to drag it out as long as they can .I was thinking of getting another f250 and hope to get a good one that is the truck I wanted it's beautiful but I just don't know if I can after this. I love the truck .motor not so much
Ford has it figured out .the motors sound good till you sign the paper's and drive it home. If they made all this racket on the lot or test drive I dought guys would say wow listen to that motor knock sounds like ______ now let's sign those paper's and take this rattle trap home

Thats really strange. Ford agreed to buy back my truck within 2 weeks of notifying them and I did not have the services of an attorney. You been complaining about your truck for over 3 months and nothing is progressing with a buy back and you have an attorney involved?
Sorry to hear about other forum menbers’ disturbing engine noise issues. Our 2017 F350’s 6.2 sounded OK to me, as does our 2019 F350’s 6.2... knock on aluminum!
Best of luck sorting out the issues,
Jim / crewzer
Why do some have death wobble and some do not ? Why are some 6.2 motors fine and others not fine? Is it where it's built is it who is building it ? Bottom line ford is putting some motors out there that have issues. Look at the New mustang some have the tick some don't .it's a gamble buying a ford now days if you get a good one or a lemon.
Haven’t had an issue with my 6.2 so far nor have I heard of any issues with the large fleet of 17/18 6.2’s used at work.
I tend to be bothered by engine noises too, dating back to a 99 Ford Ranger 4.0 OHV that’s sounded like an old diesel at idle due to carbon and wrist pin issues if I recall. That one had 4 different Ford remanufactured engines installed under warranty and all sounded the same but died of unrelated catastrophic issues if you can believe that.
If my 6.2 started making concerning/embarrassing noises, I’d dump it in a heartbeat, but haven’t a clue what would replace it.
