I'm using QSUD 5W-30 in my 6.2 and it sounds fine...I got great results from this stuff in my Ram and Blackstone Labs even said I could go to a 11.5K OIC. I imagine my first UOA from the Ford will be similar; I’ll know for sure in about 7K miles.

Im runnings Fords full synthetic oil... I just don’t want them to put any blame on me if I start getting my oil change else where . Let’s see what they say on Monday.

I checked my remote oil filter bolts, (2) 1/2" and (2) 10mm, and all were as tight as could be. Still haven't noticed the sound since around the time I last posted here about it. In fact, I'm feeling good enough about it that I may or may not have installed an AFE intake and SCT BDX tuner.

Update : it’s been a couple of weeks since I took my 2019 F250 with the 6.2 engine tick... after 4 days in the shop they couldn’t determine the root of the engine tick... service manager suggested to contact Ford Corporate and attempt a buy back or just wait till engine fails... I didn’t feel I should have to do either so I contacted the store ceo (family own) and he sympathized with my predicament and pleasantly shocked he offered to buy back my truck and get me into a new one and would make the numbers somehow work (they are insured)... so I got into a 2020 F250 6.2 (without the tick) and my payment stayed the same ...after I signed deal.. they agreed to installed the 2.5 ready lift with track bar bracket, rhino lining and Katskin leather at no additional expense to me...

Off topic, but how much are the Katskinz? Very nice. Sounds like you got hooked up. Did you consider the 7.3?

they run $1500-$1700 installed and I did test drive one but I feel the 6.2 is quicker and lighter up front

Nice, I might have to DIY a set one of these days, along with Raptor wheel.

Looking at the numbers and after doing some mods, I wonder if an uncorked and tuned 6.2 wouldn't be as fun or even more so than a stock 7.3. Though I think they are getting +80 HP / 55 FT/LB at the crank w/o any accessories on it w/ cam, mild porting, and intake manifold. Not THAT impressive to the wheels and probably not money that I would invest on a big work truck however.

Thanks ... yes it’s a stx w/ FX4 but does have the large center screen with apple car play , sat radio, Ford pass...remote start. I guess I’m just missing the power seat and power folding mirrors ... fog lamps. the leather gives it a upgraded feel and smells awesome.

You've got one helluva good dealer to get you in that new truck with all the trimings. Congrats.

Yes sir, they are very family oriented and have very strong Christian values , they saw the time I invested with their service dept , and I just put it in perspective. This 6.2 has zero tick noise just a really nice growl...and truth be told they have “insurance “, the will “total loss” it and not lose a penny , They still made a sale off of me... be I’m content.

sorry I feel your pain.... I’ve heard how the 6.2 is suppose to be “bullet proof”, and I’m sure some if not most are... but it sucks when it happens to us ... the ones who have the lemon engines... shoot my 2020 has been in the shop for less serious electrical issues like bad abs relays and my camera system went out completely... it’s been over a month and they still can not order the replacement parts .. but no engine tick with this one like my 2019 had. It’s just unfortunate to have any issues when buying a brand new vehicle , I understand warranty will cover it .., but it won’t cover the inconvenience imposed . My (wife’s) 2017 Silverado just went out of warranty and I never ever had to take it in for any service issues , other than oil changes ... my 2019 f250 was a never ending trip to the service dept and now my 2020 is off to the same start ... I do have to say they looks great

Kinda like the 3.5 Ecoboost you here tons of crap on it have had 4 since 2010 not one single problem out of none. On my 3rd 6.7 since Ford came out with it and no problems other than my 19 it had the electric fan went bad. This is my first 6.2 and so far so good haven’t had it long but got 2000 on it and good so far.
Why did you switch from 6.7 to 6.2?
