A lot of the tick and knock noises can be attributed to the fuel system. Fuel injectors and high pressure fuel pumps do make noise. The noises are more noticeable when it's cold.
The 6.2 is an exceptionally good engine. It has proven itself to be a durable, efficient, and reliable engine in both the Super Duty and the Raptor.

True ... and Raptors were build with the intention to be ran hard
Has anyone ever listened to other vehicles running in a parking lot lately? There a lot of new vehicles with chatter going on under the hood. Valve train and fuel systems. My 6.2 makes some interesting noises sometimes but i can tell its not a deep knock like a rod knock or anything detrimental. It all sounds like chatter and solenoids engaging and disengaging. Run the factory oil and filters and move on unless you are experiencing something like a bad knock that stays with engine speed. My 2cents. BTW the 6.4 hemi is even worse for noises and also known to smoke at startup every now and then. My 2015 Ram did this. Not very comforting to say the least. So dont go switching to Ram and think all is well with tr he 6.4.

Exactly they all have their issues. I run all motor craft oil and filters for one so they can’t blame it on that and two they actually have good oil nothing wrong with it at all. That being said Im still not on the cart about full synthetic oils I still run conventional in my diesels and Fords blend in my 6.2 and will until they can prove that’s the reason I’m having issues and as of to date gotta have a issue to prove it.
I had the dealer check on the noise my engine is making. They gave me the BS excuse that because I have a heavy duty alternator and two batteries, that it's the alternator making noise and it's normal.
My last F350 was a 6.2. When I ran it as a daily driver, I had no issues with a tick. Once I changed jobs and hoped into a service truck and my 350 wasnt a daily driver anymore, I started to hear some clatter on start up. Once it was warmed up and I ran it for a day, it was fine until I let it sit again. I traded it in a couple of months ago for a 19 F350 with a 6.7. So far loving it. As far as my service truck, Its got a 6.2 and will turn 100,000 miles by the end of next week. No tick or clatter,
My 2019 6.2 STX F250 FX4 has been having occasional tapping sounds emitting from the engine bay , it’s frustrating and even embarrassing... the engine runs strong I’ve taken it on a 4500 mile road trip with zero issues (south Texas to San Francisco and back)... the deal tells me it’s normal but I can’t stand it. I have almost 11K miles on it .
So I decided to take my truck into My Ford Dealership today, I got tired of hearing the engine knock, ... so the service manager obliged me and heard the knocking and immediately said “that not normal, I need my service tech to look at it, so leave it here”... so let’s see what happens , ... this sucks I purchased a new truck to have a vehicle with no issues.
Not sure if this will help, but as a former Ram owner, I can tell you what a lot of folks in that community did to kill the dreaded Hemi tick: they ran Red Line oil. I never had that noise in
my Rebel, but I used QSUD as soon as I read about it. The Reb’s replacement, my ‘18 F-250 gasser, doesn’t seem to tick but I may use QSUD in it too after reading this thread!

Thanks for your suggestion, I picked up my truck yesterday afternoon and was told they are waiting for “headquarters “, for further instructions but do admit to there being a definite ticking sound ... so feels like a waste of time... they said they only definite way to find the root of the tick would be to open the engine up... I almost lost my cool ... it’s a brand new truck.

Are you gonna go ahead and let them "open the engine up"?
My truck with 4600 miles on it has a slight tick type noise. Yesterday morning it was really noticeable but by the time I drove it the six miles to work I could hardly hear it. This morning it wasn't loud like yesterday but if you opened the hood up you could hear it faintly doesn't seem to change with RPMs. I think it's normal for this engine but can't figure out why it was louder yesterday morning.
Mine sounds similar to the one is this video. yesterday it was this loud but since then it's so faint you have to have the hood up and really listen to hear it.

I don’t want them to , I don’t know if it will come out in my carfax... I’m tempted to just trade it in before I have to make a decision ..and that isn’t not a normal engine sound ... that’s metal on metal
