That’s what I was warning about when this thread started. They mostly buy old emergency service vehicles with high hours and part them out. When I looked at the engines, they were many Ford remans, not what you want either. There are some parts you can get from them, but you have to be very selective.
If you want salvaged parts, it’s best to look local and see what you are getting and what it’s coming out of.
I have bought salvaged parts off of eBay but that’s an easy return and a half and you can get a good look at them.
I bought mine for a Chevy but the word needs to go out about these people so no one else spends this kind of money.
Rather than any of the above, I'd buy a wrecked, low-mile truck at auction and swap out its engine. You can know for sure (almost) how many miles were on the engine; you know that the engine was prolly running just fine when it got in the wreck. You will have more work to pull that engine, but you also get lots of extra parts. Depending on how bad the wreck was, you'll prolly pay less than any of the above.
