Had anyone delt with diesel redemption? I need a new engine and can't afford the 14,000 for a shop to rebuild mine. I found a 6.0 through these guys they say they all have low miles and we're properly cared for. Just wondering if any of you guys have delt with them
I've bought from them, I would just say buy your parts knowing where they came from. They salvage emergency service vehicles, which might have low miles, but have long idle hours. When I looked at motors from them many were Ford remanufactured motors, and from personal experience, I would say they are some of the worst you can find in the rebuilt motor industry. I've got a YouTube video to stand behind that statement.
So if they have a motor that is original with low miles, that would be as good as hunting salvage for one. My preference would be hunting local yards to find a truck with low to moderate miles, and you can see the vehicle its in to determine if it's been performance modified. 6.0s are a little touchy about the performance mods they get and can get hurt in the process.
Speaking from personal experience as a former EMT, don't get a low mile 6.0 out of a van or ambulance chassis.
Depending on the squad, they sit idle for days, are started up and driven full throttle for short trips and then parked at idle or worse, shut down.
Our 2006 now is used only for transfers an hour away or as a back up if the newer gasser is out on a call.
It was a nightmare in it's earlier days.
Sure, the power was great compared to the 7.3 we had, when it wasn't in the shop for warranty work.
Hopefully $14K includes a few upgrades. I can get a long block rebuilt for $5K with an almost better warranty than Ford but MUCH better quality. That includes studs too

Then it might be fine. But I’d pull the bedplate so you can check the bearings and cam condition before going through the install. The lower gaskets are cheap and pulling those doesn’t require the crank seals to be disturbed.
I also have a question about Diesel Redemption or any other salvage/junk yard was looking into buying a used 5R110 transmission cause mines on its last life lol. whats your guys opinion on buying a used 5R110 transmission. I'm on a fixed budget but if need be my max i can spend with transmission and having it replaced is 3K. thanks for any and all help.
I saw somewhere a 6.0 with new head studs, complete rebuilt engine for around 5k. Will look to see if I can find it again. Oh, had a 3 year warranty too.
