I have gotten things from Diesel redemption and would do so again.
would you chance buying a used 5R110 automatic transmission? Only reason I'm asking is because I'm on a budget. But also maybe worried that it wont last long either but not sure.
If I was getting a used transmission, and at this point in my Ford experience the only way I would go, I would hunt the local yards and physically look at the truck the trans was coming out of if I could. Or at least get the lowest mileage. Many dismantles will deliver to a installing shop too.
These OE transmissions are pretty robust so unless poor maintenance or a truck that’s been “hot rodded” should not be an issue. I typically pull the lubricants and do a pan inspection before I carry a powertrain something out of a yard.
I got yea thanks for the help and advice. Where I live out in Montana there's not alot of places to source a used 5R110. If it was you what range of mileage on a trans would you look for 50k-100k miles?
Ive used LKQ. Gotta get it in the truck before warramty runs out so if there is an issue you can get a swap. I have a Jasper in mine. Great warranty with them
