My grandparents had gotten their first indoor plumbing about the time I was born. I was one of the first ones to take a bath in their new bathroom, that used to be a bedroom back in the day. Grandma's washing machine was always outside under the clothes line, and she ran a garden hose to it to fill it. Then she had the "Chamois finger pincher) to wring out the clothes before hanging them up. Grandma always said if we behaved, she would hang us on the clothes line by our toe nails. I never saw her do it, but it kept us in pretty straight lines.
Yep, Grandma's was electric, and it didn't want to stop until it had you up to your elbow. We didn't mess with it much because grandma.. well "Hang you from your toenails"
