Well, disappointingly no 6.7 numbers today... Wondering now if they’re saving the 6.7 numbers for the Texas State Fair... I think they figure waiting on the power numbers of the 6.7 will have no effect on orders in 2 weeks. Those of us ordering the diesel are going to order the diesel regardless of whether it’s 1005lb ft or 1015lb ft. Also, a little disappointed in the power numbers of the 7.3. 430hp, 475 torque at 4000rpm. It does have a decent torque curve for a gas engine though with 400 torque coming in at 1500rpm...
Could be still trying to get it EPA complaint. Had to fight up to the 11th hour with the 6.7s in the 2017s to get the numbers on em and be compliant.

Mine advantage of a push rod engine while at the same time a disadvantage.
you will get good low rpm power and torque but you are not going to be able to Sustain the hp/tq to rpm ratio as you pass the push rod performance barrier which normally is 3500 to 4000. Pushing beyond that will accelerate wear and bend rods.
the first thought I had when I heard that the 7.3 was a push rod gas motor was that some back yard joe is going to convert that thing to run diesel.
I feel like one big difference from the GM 6.6 gas to not forget about is that it is mated to a 6 speed transmission. Hopefully the 10 speed with the 7.3 will be more impressive
Now the only thing holding me up is the Ford 10 speed.
A XLT 450 with the options I want runs about the same as a 350 King Ranch gas, so me being underwhelmed with the 7.3 numbers I think I'll take the 450's better turning radius and other benefits (beefier parts).
Yeah those are 2 drastically different trucks but it was based on what I could get a 450 XLT loaded for. It has everything I decided I wasn't going without, so just shopped a similar gas truck and decided since I was already willing to pay that much I might as well spend the same amount and go over the top on the comfort items.
And call me weird but the one thing that still attracts me to the XL and XLT is the manual transfer case. I know the electronic ones are good and problems are few and far between, there is just something about being able to pull that lever and lock in the hubs.
You got to think Mary Barra called down to the Chevy design team and said “boys, butcher one”...
And man, did they ever..
I saw it again today. I’m telling you, it just says “gotta little mangled foil here, an old A/C vent grille from the apartment here, a couple lights from the kids go-cart project gone bad... aaaaaannnndddd... a couple of stick-on mirrors. There. GOD IN HEAVEN! WHAT DID I CREATE?

HONEY?
HELP!!!!!!.....”
Yes, ugly they are but ........GM’s SRW HD trucks have greater GVWR and heavier frames. Will Ford improve for 2020?

I tend to agree with this. Will it be class leading, yes. But my guess 420/485. Main objective is reliability, simplicity. But fairness in conversation I'm also gun shy since the 2009 f150 debuted with.... 10 more hp. But more if you run e85.
Hey 420/485 pretty close guess. At least with 485 ft lbs tq it would have more than a 2020 3.0L eco diesel.
Do any of you know if I need to order the entire Trailer camera and TPMS kit again for my new 2020 F450 Limited.? I already Have the kit installer on my RV from my 2017 F350 and I'm afraid if I don't order the kit, that the won't be prepped for it. The kit was around $800. I'm thinking I should just order it to be safe then sell it with my 2017 F350 Platinum DRW white.

You won't get your money back out of the new kit you bought if it turns out to be the same as what you have. If I were in your shoes, I'd make the salesman EARN his commission, and the selling dealer EARN their profit on a $100,000.00 2020 F-450 LIMITED, by having them do the research for you, before you place your order, while you still have the power to find another dealer who WILL make the phone call to Ford for you.
It’s a gasoline based engine, it has compression limitations, and for low RPM, or any RPM, The torque numbers are going to be less than half of the diesel.
It’s a great alternative for fleet buyers looking for simplicity, and those looking for a cheap power plant.they will sell a lot of them, just not to me.
Really not and different than the numbers than what’s in my wife’s Yukon Denali. Runs great by itself, and can tow light loads in impressive fashion, but not even in the same galaxy as a diesel.
As someone else put it, it’s like ordering a Mustang with a V-6.
Why is everyone saying the power is low compared to a diesel.
The fact is, it's not.
The power is low compared to a TURBO diesel.
A N/A diesel is an absolute dog CID to CID (if there are any even available any longer)
Granted, the PSD is still the absolute beast in a Super Duty......but not because it's a diesel alone.
And while I loved and miss my '12 PSD, I do not miss the maintenance and having to hold my breath once the warranty expired.

He already told me that I wouldn't need it but I want to make double sure. I would hate to wait all this time and find out i needed it.
I deal with a awesome small Ford dealer that make me feel like family. My Salesman is also the owner and the finance man. No BS no back and forth, I love it. Best auto buying experience ever hands down !!!! You actually leave there felling good about everything. Their service department is the same way.
