Door Chime Continues To Ring
2000 E150
The chime that sounds when the door is open with the keys in the ignition and sounds when the lights are left on is chiming
with lights off, door closed, and driving down the road. Should I suspect the door light switch or something else. Anyone ever had this problem

It might be the ignition switch. When I changed out mine the chime would come on when I moved the steering column up and down. I pulled out the switch and put it back in and it stopped doing it.
If I remember correctly there was a little connector and wire that operated the chime on the ignition switch and had to be placed just right.

FWIW that feature bugs the crap out of me so I've removed the contact, wrapped it in electrical tape and tucked it away inside the upper shroud---of course I have a key hidden on the outside of the van in case I forget and lock my keys inside-------again.
(Hasn't happened in over 8 years.................)
