when I started truck with spout connector disconnected and allowed to idle, I reconnected spout connector and timing was at 30 t0 34. does this sound possible
Try clockwise just a hair (to the right), and check the timing with the Spout unplugged. If that brings the timing closer to 10deg, then turn it a little more and re-check until you get to 10deg.
You might want to put a mark on the distributor lined up with a fixed spot on the engine so you don't lose your place.
Keep an eye on your timing light cables so they don't fall into the fan.....

Yes because the computer is assuming the base timing is 10°.

Correct. Only loosen the hold down bolt enough to turn the distributor. If it is too loose the distributor will be hard to set while you look at the light and snug down the bolt. Unless you have a third hand.
ok, set base timing at 10 and did a KOER test, codes displayed 11r, truck is running about 98%, still has a slight miss in 2nd gear. hopefully the computer can correct. but it is doing great thanks to you guys help. Thank You Brothers!!!

Well done.
Check your KOEO again when you get the chance, make note of any CM/Memory codes.
Set up your signature line next time around....
Also, I always recommend you dump in a few tins of HEET gas-line antifreeze in a 1/8 tank of fuel every now and then to soak up the water, then add another 1/4 tank of fuel shortly after. But really, if you use the truck rarely, keep little to no fuel in it, dump a tin of heet in it when you use it an only put in enough fuel to complete the task.
Thanks a lot old timer, did a KOEO test code 11 was only code. truck still stumbles in 2nd gear, but improves. I also added some of the heet additive. haven't driven the truck any this week. I bought a 2000 mustang. been driving it.
hey ya'll, im still having trouble with my 1990 f150 4.9L. idle is really bad. KOER codes 12,22,42. replaced idle air control valve with no change. missing really bad. running very lean. dont know what to do next. if anyone can help it would be very appreciated, thanks
Update....Replaced the amazon MAP sensor. Added "Heet" and some SeaFoam. All so added fresh gas. Kept running the old dog and slowly started to notice improvement. The code checker is a tremendous help. Thanks Again
