O2 (Oxygen Sensor)
Ranger 1991 3.0L 2Wheel Drive.
I replaced my O2 (Oxygen Sensor) Sensor last week due to poor gas miliage and poor engine performance when giving it gas to pass someone or go up a hill.
Question is this! I am getting the same problem as of today and the engine light comes on as well. (It came on last week before I replaced this sensor, but went out ands stayed off since I replaced the sensor). Is it possible for the O2 Sensor to go bad or be defective this fast? The Sensor is not cheap by anymeans and need some help with this. I thank you for any help offered on this issue.

Mathelm, oh boy, hmmm, Nope! I sure didn't. Meaning I did not clear the codes. Actually I did not know one had to do that and since we are on this subject, how do I clear the code? Thank you for responding Mathelm.

Just disconnect the battery for 15 minutes and the codes will be cleared. If you get the light again pull the codes before replacing anything else, if you need help let me know.
