I have a 2019 F250 that I recently picked up from the dealer and with all the death wobble talk I'm planning to just switch to Fox shocks and stabilizer. It's nice to work on it while it's nice and clean. Looks like a simple job but I have a question about the plastic retainer for a tube on the drivers side top shock stud. How do you get that retainer off and out of the way to get the shock nut off? You can see it in the photo below:
Its just pressed on. Use a trim removel tool or a small flat blade screw driver and gently pry it up. It looks like there should be enough slack depending on how rigid that plastic tube is.
Here's a tip, if you have a L-O-N-G extension and an impact gun, you can reach the upper shock nut from above, from the engine compartment - nut "zips" right off.
