I personally think deleting is a good idea. I have been inside hundreds of these engines and see the amount of carbon that builds up everywhere. I don’t think you would eat your own $**t so why would you want your engine to do it as well which is essentially what egr does. With a good not pre canned tune that helps the engine run more efficiently you would be able to expect some more power and better mpgs, however as you get into the higher horsepower tunes don’t expect the latter of the two.
While I agree with the sentiment of deleting, I do remain cautious as I am still under warranty. While I am going to wait until I'm off warranty, I do fight the urge to buy emissions legal tuning such as DP-Tuner and 5 Star. But even if there's a problem, Ford can tell the truck was tuned. So wait I guess.
One question though: what does "canned" tunes mean? Thanks.

canned tunes are the ones that come on the tuner from whatever brand of tuner you purchase. Custom tunes are ones that are written by a reputable tune writer that you have to upload to a tuner from your computer. They are generally sent to the customer via email. Canned tunes are a generic tune.

Or in the case of the EZ LYNK and AutoAgent, the custom tuning companies assign the tune profile (firmware) to your account.
